I think the 24-105 is better outdoors for more reach while the 24-70 is better indoors for faster aperture. The 24-70 is a little sharper but the newer 24-70 f2.8 ii usm is a lot sharper but twice the price. You could get an old Tamron ef 28-200 compact everyday carry lens for very cheep on eBay and put saved money toward an r6 later in the future.
